For the eighth consecutive year, US-based Roofers Supply is launching a new scheme to encourage people to donate food.
The family-owned group is to offer
sweatshirts for those bringing 20 lbs of food to one of its stores in Salt Lake, Ogden, Lindon or Cedar City, reports Desert News.
Following the initiative, Roofers hopes to donate around 26,000 lbs of food to the Utah Food Bank.
The company is also accepting coats, which will be donated to charity.
Utah Food Bank is staffed by volunteers who distribute emergency groceries to those in the community who are experiencing hunger - it claims that 343,000 local people do not know where their next meal is coming from.
Meanwhile, a US-based charity is providing free
school sweatshirts for children, reports the St Louis Post Dispatch.
Known as Operation School Bell, the initiative aims to bring school clothes to children whose parents are not able to purchase uniforms.
