Pink t-shirts sell out at rugby club

The Newcastle Falcons have completed the sale of their pink
t-shirts in support of Cancer Research UK.
As part of a year-long partnership - which will see the Falcons play matches in the pink
t-shirts - the shirts went on sale at the rugby union club and have raised thousands of pounds for cancer research.
The team's commercial director Mick Hogan said: "The support we have received from our fans has been outstanding yet again and a huge thank you goes out from the club to everyone who has supported this great cause."
Launched back in September, the kit debuted in October's EDF Energy Cup clash at Kingston Park against the Llanelli Scarlets.
At the time, John Fletcher, Falcons director of rugby, said that playing a "macho" game such as rugby in pink
t-shirts "might shock some people".
However, Mr Fletcher expressed both his own and the team's commitment to the cause, indicating that "most of us, at sometime in our lives, will be affected by cancer".
And in support of Brain Tumour UK, football fan Matt Deighton is planning to auction a
t-shirt signed by Brazilian soccer star Pele.
