T-shirt advertising "invaluable" for business

Advertising a business using
t-shirts and other memorabilia is "invaluable", one executive claims.
Promotional
t-shirts are given to each famous person that places an order at US grill chain Dreamland Bar-B-Que, in a marketing drive from the restaurant.
Famous names to receive Dreamland
t-shirts include Pavarotti, president George W Bush and American Idol Taylor Hicks, reports the Birmingham News.
And last year the Associated Press photographed actor Will Ferrell wearing one of the tees.
"That type of exposure is invaluable," Dreamland marketing director Betsy McAtee told the newspaper, claiming she expects the promotion to encourage more people to visit the restaurant.
"It hopefully, if nothing else, piques their curiosity about Dreamland," she added.
Meanwhile, lauding the "free advertising", UAB marketing professor Warren Martin said the mementos, which work with people's "emotions and feelings on several levels", are the best advertising tool as customers are providing revenue while promoting a product.
Other businesses that use
t-shirts to advertise their products include Zoe's Kitchen and Continental Bakery, with one of the most famous cases being Hard Rock Cafe.
Dreamland operates as a franchise and has expanded since 1958 from a single restaurant to several sites across Alabama and Georgia.
