A US soldier killed by a car bomb in Iraq has been commemorated with a pair of
t-shirts designed by his friends.
Two different
t-shirts have been designed in honour of 19-year-old Private Nicholas Madaras and were genrated on a computer by his friend William Thresher, reports the Wilton Villager.
The
t-shirts depict a silhouette of the soldier with a US flag flying in the background and Madaras' initials printed in the middle of two lions drawing swords.
By including the image of lions, Mr Thresher hoped to signify strength.
"His memory is such a good memory - it's one of those you want to keep forever," said the Wilton High School junior, whose brother was in Private Madaras' year at school.
"The day I found out, I wasn't really [all] there, [but] I was thinking about what I could do. I just really wanted to do something."
Last month the Taunton Gazette reported on a rally staged in support of American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The soldiers' family members wore
sweatshirts bearing pictures of their husbands and sons.
