The Hertfordshire women's rugby team have been presented with new polo shirts for the season, it has emerged.
Last year the girls borrowed their kit, including their polo shirts from the boys' teams, however, the Herts' under-17s (U17) and under-14s (U14) have been given their first official strip, reports the Welwyn and Hatfield Times.
A grant from the Local Network Fund (LNF) also brings new training equipment to the teams.
Vicky Lowe, Herts U17 head coach, told the newspaper: "This is a very exciting season for Herts girls' county rugby.
"The funding we have received from LNF has not only provided us with extensive kit and equipment, but has allowed us to have additional training sessions throughout the season at the Herts Sports Village."
She added that due to additional interest in the sport, a new squad - the Herts Barbarians - may be created for those who are not in the county team.
The LNF is part of the Every Child Matters campaign and is a funding programme for youth organisations.
