US based t-shirt, sweatshirt and polo shirt manufacturer Gildan is set to take on employees at a new distribution centre in Henry County, Georgia, it has emerged.
Gildan is recruiting for a number of positions including materials handling, packing and administration.
The plant will handle t-shirts, underwear and socks for Gildan customers, reports the Mantinsville Bulletin.
Carol Ashby, director of sales and marketing for Debbie's Staffing, which is handling the recruitment drive, told the newspaper: "It's a strong business that is an international company. They are experiencing a lot of growth."
Ms Ashby also indicated that opening a new plant in Henry County would "be good for the area".
In August, the firm announced plans to invest $7 million (£3.7 million) in a distribution centre in the region which, sized at 400,000 square feet, would employ at least 135 people.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Gildan revealed that it will close manufacturing operations in North America to open low-cost operations overseas.
