US-based polo shirt, t-shirt and sportswear manufacturer Seattle Pacific Industries has acquired the Jade Howe brand.
Mr Howe, a former Quiksilver designer, will continue as creative director of the five-year-old company, which designs and manufacturers dress shirts, polo shirts and jeans.
However, recruitment is to take place to expand the sales and marketing teams.
Commenting on the acquisition and Mr Howe's decision to head the company, Seattle Pacific President Steve Ritchey told the OC Register: "Jade has great creative vision. He's the original, the premium rock-and-roll-meets-street-skate guy."
"A lot of people are emulating him," he added.
Seattle Pacific manufactures men's and boys' clothing under its Unionbay, Reunion and Sergio Valente brands and according to Mr Howe has the capital to expand his firm.
Seattle Pacific "has a lot more resources than we had," he said, indicating that the company is currently in its start-up phase.
