Parents are using t-shirts and the latest celebrity trends for this year's Halloween muse, a report indicates.

Celebrity Babies recommends costumes for Halloween that extend beyond the traditional princesses and pirates and enter the realms of popular culture.

Low-cost ideas include dressing up as the daughter of power producers David Arquette and Courteney Cox-Arquette, using cheap t-shirts as the base for a more elaborate outfit incorporating a magic wand.

Or alternatively, mums and dads may choose to dress their children as Leni Klum, the daughter of supermodel Heidi Klum, with the added bonus of being able to dress themselves up as the German modelling icon.

Celebrity Babies recommends a hooded sweatshirt, a pair of jeans and some star shaped sunglasses to pull off the look.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Republic reports that Halloween outfits for this year look set to emanate popular films such as Pirates of the Caribbean.
