Pupils at a midlands school are looking to support their local team through their school sweatshirts, it has emerged.
Having previously worn Birmingham City royal blue sweatshirts, the students at St Andrew's Primary School in Bordesley have expressed disappointment at the sweatshirts being changed to the claret red of their rival team Aston Villa, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The school is preparing to re-open next week as Bordesley Village School and Children's Centre, with parents having agreed to the new sweatshirts last term.
However, parent Leena Mills, whose daughter Megan is a pupil at St Andrew's, told the newspaper: "Most of the children are blues supporters."
While Megan, aged seven, said: "I love St Andrew's School and I love the blues and our blue uniform."
Recently, Hunslet Moor Primary School in Leeds announced a new initiative to give all its students free sweatshirts following a uniform introduction this year.
