A US-based charity is using a t-shirt design competition to promote its work, according to a report.
The United Service Organizations (USO) Okinawa, a non-profit organisation which aims to provide support for the armed forces, recently launched a t-shirt design contest for its 2007 t-shirts.
T-shirt designs must encompass "all that the USO does", Shari Jenson, a spokesperson for the charity told Stars and Stripes.
"Originality is important," she added. "Something original and trendy would be kind of nice."
The winner will receive a cash prize and will see their t-shirt design on the back of USO's t-shirts for next year.
Other charities to have used t-shirts to promote their cause include Greenpeace, who recently launched a competition as part of a campaign against the use of toxic chemicals in computers.
U2 singer Bono has also recently launched a new t-shirt to promote the treatment of Aids victims in Africa.
