Global t-shirt and sportswear manufacturer Puma has announced a deal with designer Marcel Wanders with a view to producing a new range.
The manufacturer describes the Dutch designer as "a pioneer of the unexpected", stating that the aim of the project is for the two partners to learn from each other.
"Puma uses collaboration as two worlds coming together to make a product that is unique and fresh," said Antonio Bertone, director of global brand management at Puma.
The range, which is expected to include t-shirts, sweatshirts and polo-shirts, along with other performance apparel, is to be unveiled on October 31st as part of the Tokyo Design Week.
Mr Wanders said: "Puma has a strong connection to changing culture and wants to stay close to cultural trends by being a leader at the same time."
Mr Wanders has worked on projects ranging from interiors to architecture and designs for some of the biggest players in the European contemporary manufacturing industry, such as Cappellini, Bisazza, B&B Italia and Poliform, according to fibre2fashion.
He is the founder and artistic director of interiors firm Moooi.
