Greenpeace uses t-shirt campaign

Greenpeace has announced a new campaign t-shirt design competition to promote the manufacture of 'green' PCs.
The organisation has expressed criticism of the computer manufacturing firm Apple for not adequately recycling old computers.
As PCs are full of toxic chemicals, including lead and mercury, and are often disposed of in landfill sites in Asia, Greenpeace is urging Apple to improve its take-back service for disused computers.
The organisation is offering environmentally aware Apple customers the chance to create the t-shirt for its 'Green my Apple' campaign.
In addition to encouraging an improved system of recycling old iPods, iBooks and Macs, the campaign t-shirt should encourage green manufacturing.
"It's time for Apple to use clean ingredients in all of its products and to provide a free take-back programme to reuse and recycle its products wherever they are sold," Greenpeace said.
In related news, U2 singer Bono recently launched a t-shirt designed by his wife which is intended to back his 'One' campaign to help Aids victims in Africa.
