T-shirt manufacturer announces new president

Wednesday 27th of September 2006 01:45:00 PM

T-shirt manufacturer announces new presidentUS-based sportswear, t-shirt and sweatshirt manufacturer Russell Corporation has announced a company restructuring that will see the firm welcome a new president for its Russell Athletic brand.

Doug Kelly will head the brand, coming to the post with over 26 years experience in managing sports-related consumer product companies.

John Holland, chairman and chief executive of Russell Corporation and president of t-shirt-manufacturer Fruit of the Loom, said Mr Kelly would lead the firm "to the next level".

"We are extremely pleased to have someone with Doug's knowledge and experience moving into this very important role," he added.

Russell Corporation was founded in 1902 in Alabama, to become a pioneer in the athletic clothing market, manufacturing clothing for its brands, which include Russell Athletic, Jerzees and Mossy Oak.

According to the firm, it was one of the first companies to produce sweatshirts.
