Newcastle Falcons have launched a new kit, which incorporates the pink t-shirts of Cancer Research UK.
The north-east based rugby union club will play this season's matches in pink t-shirts and black shorts in order to raise money for the charity, launching the new kit with Emma Duncan, a cancer survivor.
Taking to the pitch on Friday October 6th, the Falcons will highlight their commitment to the their new strip in a home game at Kingston Park against the Llanelli Scarlets in the EDF Energy Cup clash.
John Fletcher, Falcons director of rugby, said: "Playing such a macho game in a pink shirt might shock some people, but it's for a great cause and the lads are all happy to play their part.
"Most of us, at sometime in our lives, will be affected by cancer. If it doesn't touch us directly it will touch our loved ones, family or close friends."
The Falcons are playing in pink t-shirts in order to raise awareness of Cancer Research UK's work and specifically to raise funds to tackle breast cancer.
