Children go through a lot of clothing. They not only outgrow their clothes, but they often also wear them out quickly before they get too small. Active children playing in the park or yard will soon be wearing pants with the knees worn out or t-shirts with tears.Of course, as they get older, they also get more particular about the clothes they wear. It doesn’t take long for children to develop their own tastes in clothing. That can equate to a frustrating and expensive problem for parents. Most parents shop alone and buy clothes for their children with the hope the kids will like what is chosen. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. The good news is that today’s fashions call for layering clothes, and that greatly simplifies the clothes buying routine.
How does layering work? You start by shopping for tank tops or sleeveless tees. Then you buy t-shirts that can be worn over the tees when the weather turns cooler. Sweatshirts pulled over t-shirts makes for practical warm clothing. Even if you buy one t-shirt in the wrong colour, it doesn’t matter. Each layered outfit is composed of multiple clothing pieces so your child can choose their favourite colour and turn the outfit into one that meets approval. Compare this to buying a coordinated outfit with pieces that can’t be mixed and matched and you can see how easy it is to save money. Another advantage is that when one piece wears out, you can simply replace it without having to discard the whole outfit.
Smart shopping for t-shirts and sweatshirts can make your life a lot easier all the way around. So when you are trying to decide what to buy your children with the least risk of rejection, just think layers! It works every time.
