Berlin Fashion Show a Success

Thursday 08th of July 2010 06:25:05 PM

Berlin Fashion Show a SuccessThe Berlin Fashion Week was just held and the numbers show that the fashion industry is beginning to rebound from a very difficult economic period that was due to the recession. This show includes vendors selling everything from high couture fashion to wholesale sweatshirts. The targeted customers are clothing retailers. The trade show was able to report a record number of fashion displays and that is an excellent sign that the clothing industry is on the verge of experiencing better times.

Not only did the number of fashion display grow, but so did the number of visitors too. Last year there were 41,800 visitors and this year the count was 46,700 visitors. The visitors and clothing vendors were both happy too. It’s been a depressing couple of years for clothing retailers. But this show proved people are feeling more hopeful. One of the spokespersons representing Michalsky, Melanie Bauer, said, “The bustle at our booth was enormous. Many existing as well as new customers looked at our 2011 summer collection and fixed dates for the showroom directly.” Michalsky accepted more orders this year compared to last year during the show.

One of the bits of information the show uncovered is a trend in the growth of children’s clothing. Children are happy to wear t-shirts but some of their parents want to mix those t-shirts with trendy clothing it seems.

The Berlin fashion show was moved from Frankfurt last year. This proved to be a successful move as evidenced by the visitors pouring in. Fair Bright reported a 150 percent increase in the number of visitors this year compared to last year. Moving the show to Berlin also attracted more international visitors with a 40 percent increase reported over last year.
