Plain t-shirts are being turned into high fashion by even people on a budget. In these difficult economic times when there's not much extra money to spend on clothes, you can still wear the most fashionable styles when you use your imagination. How do you manage that? Add sequins and other trim to ordinary cheap t-shirts. You don’t have to spend a small fortune on designer clothes to be fashionable and stylish and ready to party. In fact, you can take the simplest of t-shirts and turn them into trendy cocktail wear for nighttime festivities or into sassy fashion for the daytime just by giving them some sequined flair.
Do you think of sequins as being outdated and even tacky? If so you are missing out on a great new trend. Sequins are stylish and showing up on everything including t-shirts, sweaters, sweats and even flip-flops. Yes…beach shoes are sequineed! But instead of the tacky 1970s sequins, the ones applied today to t-shirts and sleeveless tank tops are more subdued and stylish. They are used in a way that is subdued, a bit glamorous and certainly interesting. The purpose is to add style and not gaudiness.
You could spend a lot of money on pre-made fashions but when you are trying to stay within your clothing budget, it makes more sense to buy cheap t-shirts and then add your own sparkle. You can dust your t-shirt with sparkles or add gold and silver sequins down the front of a sweater. T-shirts go so well with skirts, cardigans, leather jackets, and jeans.
Fashion experts say the key to using sequins is to keep the colors subdued. If you buy a bright yellow t-shirt and then add blue sequins or sparkle, chances are the color combination just won't work. Instead you want to buy darker colored t-shirts and use the sparkles sparingly. But the end result can be a shimmery splash of light catching sequins and sparkles that is sophisticated and fun.
