Spring Trends Include Sweaters and Shifts

Spring is here and most people are thrilled after the long dark winter days. Spring is a time when dark colors can be put away and more cheerful colors and patterns make an appearance. Out of people’s closets come light sweaters, t-shirts and shorts. But what are the trends this year?

If you watch the runways where designer clothes are paraded, you will discover that prints are back in style. Of course, the catwalk clothes have prints that people with normal body shapes would have difficulty wearing. They are bold and many this year have geometric patterns. But if you like prints, the department stores will be carrying a variety of prints and there’s sure to be something for everyone. The kinds of prints include abstracts, florals, and animal prints. There are polka dots too. Stripes are said to be hot this year and they will be found in all widths.

If you like color, you will be sure to like what you see in that area too. Many of the colors are bright yellows and bold reds. You can pair a sunshine yellow dress with a dark sweater and be ready for work or a day of shopping. There are more subdued colors too, but they are trending towards gold and sand colors which add a touch of elegance to any clothing piece. Other fashion trends include blazers, tunic dresses, scarves and shoes with more reasonable heel heights. Sleeveless shirts including tank top tees are in style too.

The change of seasons this year is bringing practical clothing once again in deference to the recession. But this should not stop you from creating your own distinctive style. This spring and summer, there is something for everyone in the fashion world.
