Slouchy sweatshirts are back in fashion which is great news for those who just love the look and feel of this particular type of clothing. On the fashion runways, the return of the sweatshirt was evident in a number of designer lines being introduced for fall. Casual is back which means you can wear those sweatshirts even as evening wear.If you don’t believe this then just look at the Dries Van Noten line or the casual wear of Nina Ricci that showed up on the runways during fashion week. Not only are sweatshirts popular once again, they are being matched with long skirts or shorts in layered looks.
The definite trend for all the fall fashions was sporty and comfortable styles. Models strutted in slacks, cotton skirts, sportswear styled clothing, and sweaters. Nina Ricci claims the collection is meant to present “sensual wearable clothes that define contemporary.” The styles were layered, throw-on, and tossed-on mixes that made it seem like almost anything goes today. In fact, the collections were so casual that many did not include any evening gowns. This may reflect the continued subdued environment created by the recession.
Though the clothes on the runways are high price, it’s much easier to recreate casual styles like those shown than expensive trim laden dresses and gowns. You can buy discount sweatshirts and tees that are a bit oversized and wear them with lace and frills if you want. No one will know that you bought them at a big discount once you assemble your outfits. Fashion is so much more fun when women can join the fashion trends without spending a lot of money.
If you want to be in style this fall then you can get out your cropped pants, simple skirts, and cotton shirts but don’t forget the sweatshirt. You can wear short-sleeved, long-sleeved or sleeveless sweats and be on the cusp of fashion trends.
