Chargers Donate T-Shirt Proceeds to Charities

Promotional clothing is practical for work wear, but it’s also great for sports fans who want to show team support. US football is as much a passion to Americans as soccer football is to Europeans. So it’s no surprise that printed tees are so popular around the world as a means of declaring team loyalty. This year, as the California professional football team named the Chargers got ready to enter the playoff game, they were also promoting their charity causes by selling logo t-shirts.

The shirts read, “Thunderbolt and Lightning, Very, Very, Frightening.” Thunderbolt and Lightening are actually running backs LaDanian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles and their pictures are on the shirts also. Two of the teams most successful players, they are seen as heroes by team fans having been instrumental in bringing the team to the playoffs. But to their charities, they are real heroes because the two players donate the proceeds from the sale of the shirts to their favorite charities.

The charities benefitting from the sales of t-shirts are the Stuttering Foundation and the Tomlinson’s Touching Lives Foundation. Camille Bascus of the Touching Lives Foundation was quoted as saying, “These two gentlemen are very passionate about their gift, about their causes, about their talents and the other people that can use a helping hand. As we’re glad we can give to our foundation so that we can raise funds for the kids we want to do things for.”

The shirts have sold by the hundreds which is good news for the charities. Besides the traditional white shirts, there are also blue and pink t-shirts available. It’s great when sports fans and sports teams band together to generate much needed money for charities and have so much fun doing it!
