Young Fashion Brands

Wednesday 09th of December 2009 12:06:50 AM

Young Fashion BrandsPure London is a major fashion event each year and it’s about to get even bigger. There is a move on to give young branded fashions a bigger showcase at the Pure London event. The UK buying event Label is working with the Pure London Spirit section to offer a larger selection of young branded fashions that will number over one-hundred. This will be a great opportunity for existing and new brands to display innovative designs that might have trouble accessing the fashion media world otherwise. The Pure London show has over 10,000 buyers who attend and that means the young fashion brands will have great exposure.

The Director of the Pure London event is Samantah Bleasby. She told fashionunited.com, “The UK young fashion industry has been asking Emap to launch a pan-industry buying event since the days of 40°. Brands and buyers in the young fashion market in particular have been expressing a need to do business and to network with their peers in London. We have successfully achieved this with Spirit over the last six seasons, enabling retailers to buy into smaller and more trend-reactive brands which work closer to the season and produce new ranges regularly through the season. Spirit’s stable of young fashion women’s brands have not only enabled independent retailers to compete with the high street on trend but also to drive better profit margins. Label has been developed primarily to complement this offer by providing a new exhibition environment dedicated to menswear and unisex labels.”

The young fashion brands offer everything in the way of clothing. There are skirts, t-shirts, dresses, jackets, pants, sweaters, and much more. Some of the fashions are trendy but fairly sedate. Others mix patterns and styles in an eclectic manner. This is a fascinating opportunity to see what smaller lesser-known brands have to offer. Many of the large fashion shows do not offer the young brands any opportunities to display their creations because of space and cost. So independent retailers can really shine at the Pure London show. So get ready to see what’s new in all fashions from haute couture to simple polo shirts. The Pure London show will run in February 2009.
