Shopping For T-Shirts and Sweaters

There are a lot of jokes and such about women enjoying shopping more than men, but has that ever been backed up by some hard facts? Clothes Show Live decided to find out and completed a national survey of women attending the Clothes Show Live event. The event occurs from December 4 through December 9 at Birmingham NEC.

So what did the survey measure? It investigated women’s attitudes towards shopping. What is found was that a majority of women would choose shopping with Cheryl Cole over going out on a date with a man found to be attractive. It seems anticipation of a date and anticipation of shopping creates similar responses. For example, in both cases women indicated they feel excited and happy. But 64 percent of the survey respondents chose shopping over going on a date as their preferred activity.

And women love to shop for everything from polo shirts to handbags. The 1,000 attending the Clothes Show Live event indicated they spent an average of £137 on a shopping trip. In comparison the women spent £68 on birthday gifts for their boyfriends. In fact, in a surprising survey result, a good 58 percent of the respondents were more disappointed at the thought of an item being sold out than if they were stood up on a date with a man.

The Clothes Show Live event is a popular fashion show that showcases leading brands. There will be a Fashion Theatre, special guest appearances, and a presentation of leading fashion brands at the event.

So the jokes about women loving to shop more than men just might be the truth!
