Sequin Season for T-Shirts Still Here

Monday 12th of December 2011 10:21:33 PM

Sequin Season for T-Shirts Still HerePlain t-shirts are being turned into haute couture again this year. In these economic times when household budgets are tight, you can still have some fashion fun when you use your imagination. How? Add sequins yourself to ordinary inexpensive t-shirts. You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to be fashionable and get in the party spirit.

In fact, you can take simple t-shirts and turn them into cocktail wear for evening or daytime sassy fashion by giving them some sequined flair.

Do you think of sequins as being tacky 1970s style? If so you are missing out on a great new trend. Sequins are showing up on t-shirts, sweaters, and even sweats. Yes…sweats! But instead of the in-your-face tacky 1970s sequins, the ones applied today to t-shirts and sleeveless tank tops more subdued and sassy. They are used in a way that is not glaring, but is rather subdued. The purpose is to add style and not tackiness.

You could spend a lot of money on pre-made fashions but when you are trying to stay within your clothing budget, it makes more sense to buy cheap t-shirts and then add your own sparkle. You can dust your t-shirt with sparkles or add gold and silver sequins down the front of a sweater. T-shirts go so well with skirts, cardigans, leather jackets, and jeans.

Fashion experts say the key to using sequins is to keep the colors subdued. If you buy a bright yellow t-shirt and then add blue sequins or sparkle, chances are your fashion will be described with words you prefer to avoid. Instead you want to buy darker colored t-shirts and use the sparkles sparingly. But the end result can be a shimmery splash of light catching sequins and sparkles that is sophisticated and fun.
