Fall will arrive before you know it and with it are cooler evenings and lots of outdoor activities. The sweater is the perennial fall fashion staple, perfect for layering when days are warmer and nights are chilly. It is the ideal transition piece for any wardrobe.Sweaters for fall and winter 2011-2012 will run the gamut from chic and trendy to comfy and homey. They will be found in a variety of fabrics and color choices. And, they can be dressed up for evening or dressed down for an afternoon in the country.
The most popular sweaters are high quality cotton that can be worn in multiple temperatures. Cotton can be cooling during the day when the sun drives up the thermometer and provide an extra needed layer at night when it becomes cooler.
Cardigan and golf sweaters are two of the most sought after styles for fall and winter. The cardigan can be layered over cotton tee shirts and serves as a jacket. The golf sweater can also be worn over a tee shirt for a casual look or dressed up with a pearl necklace. Other styles include turtlenecks, baby dolls, and stoles.
The runways were packed with sweaters during shows for the next season. The best look so far? Variations of a long turtleneck with vivid tights or leggings or skinny jeans, and ankle boots rocked on several of the best runways. To this look designers added scarves and long necklaces to achieve the Wow factor.
