Social networking sites have become popular among teens and young adults. But now they are also being used by retailers in a variety of industries including fashion. Teens in tees and polo shirts check out these sites now not to just make friends but to look at new styles of clothing. The attraction is not the clothing either. The attraction of these sites for those who enjoy online social networking is the fact the viewers can leave comments. How many ways are there to give feedback to the hottest designers and fashion companies? That’s the marketing charm of using a site like Facebook as a marketing tool.Replay is one of fashion brands that has been using Facebook. The site has over 22,000 fans who often shop the stores in major cities like Rome and Paris. Replay makes denim brands and its Facebook page has become popular faster than was anticipated. The content on the site is changed regularly which encourages fans to visit frequently to see what has changed. In addition, there is a direct link through filmed video that takes the viewer to an online store. Gaetano Sallorenzo is the CEO of Fashion Box S.p.A. Fashion Box heads the brands Replay & Sons and We Are Replay. Sallorenzo was quoted as saying, “The web is a key tool for a young and fast company like ours. In the new platform all our brands, each with its own personality, find a living space, as do the products linked to the numerous brand extension projects.”
People visiting the Replay Facebook site have left comments like ‘cool’ and ‘the bomb’. Replay first began as a shirt brand but a visit by the Fashion Box founder Claudio Buziol to a Japanese denim cloth factory changed the company focus. Replay became a double ring denim jean maker.
Like most fashion businesses today, the last year has seen a decline in sales. But Fashion Box is planning on adding new management and creative talent soon in order to improve sales.
