Fashion Week Around the World

Monday 21st of September 2009 04:27:00 AM

Fashion Week Around the WorldAnyone who tracks fashion knows there are big shows like the London Fashion Week and New York City Fashion Week. But there are plenty of smaller versions of the fashion week held in smaller cities too. For example, Fashion Week Tampa Bay is now an annual event with the second show held this year in September. This particular show was held at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel and it was fun for all. The show included runway shows, exhibitors, food events and plenty of parties.

Event attendees were asked what their favorite fashions were but they were also asked what they saw as their personal style. The interesting fact about many of the answers is that almost everyone’s wardrobes include t-shirts, comfortable jeans and maybe even hoodies.

The words used to describe various styles include hip, comfortable, hot, sophisticated, conservative and trendy to name just a few. Each person develops their own style through trial and error for the most part. It can take years, but once the style is established shows like the Fashion Week Tampa Bay provide lots of opportunity to see the newest fashions making it easy to plan new wardrobes. The t-shirt holds its own too and appears in many of the outfits on the runway and on lists of favorite clothing pieces.

The way people wear tees and polo shirts vary too. Some people are content to dress simply while others make the shirts centerpieces making a statement. One person interviewed described their personal style as a blend of country, rock and hip hop and so combined tight jeans, a trendy jacket and a t-shirt. The advice of everyone interviewed is to not get stuck in a fashion rut when there are so many great ways to create personal style.
