Howies helps budding t-shirt designers market their new designs. A new company called teepay.com lets people develop and upload their designs. Then Howies will enable these new designers to print the designs on organic tees if enough people order the new shirts showcased by teepay.com. Ten percent of the sale price of the t-shirt will go to the designer or a designated charity. A designer has the designs first printed on blank t-shirts and then Howies will promote the products. The good news is that there is really no limit on the number of sales allowed. This is yet another idea taking advantage of the technology that can be accessed through the internet.
Recently Howies presented the “Do Lectures” t-shirt series making it the second year straight Howies has sponsored the charity t-shirt. An event held in Cardigan Bay, West Wales was the location for the charity event where the commemorative shirts were sold for no profit. One shirt had a gold ticket sewed inside that was worth £1000. The lucky winner gets the money and a free t-shirt. This year’s charity t-shirt design was inspired by the child’s book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. The charity design was printed only on ethically produced organic tees.
Teepay.com lets the public vote on their favorite t-shirts each month. The winning designs will be printed on the organic tees Howies uses. The designs that won were “Japan” by Moon; “Daydreamer” by Red; “Evil comes in All Sizes” by Sothemofob; and “Milk” by Salty.
