Understated Elegance in Sweaters and Jackets

United Colors of Benetton has revealed its women’s fall fashion collection for the upcoming 2009/2010 season. The collection is in muted colors and the designs are understated elegance. Everything from sweaters to skirts are simple and fashionable. The toned down colors reflect both the season and the fact consumers are struggling economically. Sober without being dreary, the blues, grays, and blacks are easy to mix and match.

Many of the chic fashion pieces are made from very modern woven fabrics with a variety of textures. But you will also find satin crepe, flowing jersey and knitwears. The fabric designs are varied so there are waffling, stripes, prints, and patterns of cables and diamonds. The items being introduced will also serve multiple needs including work wear, evening wear and casual wear.

The textiles used in this collection are very British. There are reversible fabrics in garden and field color shades. Short coats are made from Prince of Wales patterns, and the timeless Oxford shirt makes an appearance also.

But it’s the colors that make people notice the new collection. The wools are made with many colour shades and include special effects such as salt-and-pepper and chevron patterns. But there are also some more brightly coloured options available too. In the subdued soft winter colours are various pinks and orange shades.

If you are tired of wearing the same colours then the new Benetton collection is sure to please. But even if you are on a budget and can’t afford the more expensive clothing lines, just keep your eyes open for the new shades to be found even in those everyday clothes like polo shirts.
