Plus Size Fashion Goes Fashionable

Thursday 16th of July 2009 04:02:04 AM

Plus Size Fashion Goes FashionableJust because you are a plus size doesn’t mean you can’t be as fashionable as the rest of the world. That is just what the UK plus size retailer, Evans, and Beth Ditto have set out to prove. Beth Ditto is a member of the band named Gossip and she is curvy, sexy and stylish. She is going to use her flair for style to promote a new plus size fashion collection from Evans with the opening salvo to be at London Lovebox Music Festival.

Ms. Ditto appears in ads for Evans looking wonderfully fashionable and ready to take on the world. Photographed by famed photographer Rankin, the ad campaign will be launched in July. The Evans collection will range in sizes from 14 to 32 and was influenced by the styles of the 80s. Completely updated, the clothing has been created in a way that makes brightly colored pieces interchangeable. The clothing pieces include many different piece styles including dresses, slacks, bustier shirts and sweaters.

Ms. Ditto said this about her new assignment with Evans, “Designing this line is a dream come true. I wanted to make something special, just for us, something never seen before. I hope the clothes inspire you to think outside the box. After all, boxes are square and in more ways than one we are not.” Ms. Ditto is more than a model. She worked hand-in-hand with the Evans Head of Design, Lisa Marie Peacock, to create a fashion collection that plus size woman will enjoy wearing. The collection includes somewhat serious dresses and over-sized flirty and cute kitty print tees and a number of flamboyant pieces. The timing of the collection introduction meshes with the start of the British festival season. That’s why the Evans collection also includes things like poplin parkas and hooded capes.
