Michael Jackson Icon Tees

Friday 17th of July 2009 03:23:30 AM

Michael Jackson Icon TeesMichael Jackson may have been a pop-star but he was also a fashion icon. Even after his death, television reports love to show a montage of his concerts and his outfits. Wearing plain white t-shirts and black plants along with white socks, he was able to take the most mundane clothes and turn them into fashion. He also seemed to do it naturally. The reports now say he first wore the single sequined glove to hide vitiligo which causes splotchy white patches on black skin. One hand was more splotchy than the other thus leading to the wearing of the famed sequined glove.

No one really knows if these reports are true because Jackson did not talk publicly about his condition. But somehow he had the showman’s knack for turning a glove into an icon. On the fashion runways in places like London, Paris and New York you will see his fashion influence too. The motorcycle jacket, single glove, simple tees, and black fedora are all found in the most elite fashion shows.

What is also amazing is the fact the singing and dancing artist has been influencing fashion for over 20 years. It seemed to really begin with that oversized white glove. Sadly his clothing made other statements too such as the time he wore pajama bottom like pants to his court hearing concerning accusations of child molestation. Looking dazed and weak, he did not look fashionable…just overwhelmed. But who else would show up at court wearing pajamas and a business suit coat? So even in his misery, Michael Jackson could be a fascinating fashion icon.

Truth be told, you would not know that Michael Jackson was the ultimate shopper before he had financial problems. In the 1990s he went on shopping sprees that can only be called extravagant. Even as late as 2005, he was spending lavishly and managed to spend over $150,000 at Harrods Department Stores in less than 30 minutes.

The fashion, music and dance world will miss Michael Jackson…but not nearly as much as his fans.
