The Swiss Textile Federation has awarded the Swiss Textiles Awards to young and emerging designers for the last nine years. The program was first started in the year 2000 to award a Swiss designer only, but was internationalized by the third award. The tradition will be carried on yet again for the 10th year when the award is announced at the Schiffbau in Zurich. The award is just one activity held during the Stella Contemporary Fashion Award event. The award has proven to be a career booster for winners. Many have gone on to gain international recognition. This year the past winners will be discussing for the benefit of the audience their career paths taken since winning the annual award. The event is held on 12-November-2009. The winner is awarded much more than just recognition too because there is also career development in-kind activities included that are worth 100,000 euros. It is because of the many career assisting benefits the winner receives that so many of them go on to succeed.
