Visiting Eclectic Lower High Street in Your Comfortable Sweats

Visiting Eclectic Lower High Street in Your Comfortable SweatsIf you are looking for something interesting and different to do for some fun, the lower High Street clothing and hospitality retailers say it’s time to visit them. You can throw on your favorite t-shirt or some sweats and find lots to do on lower High Street.

Unfortunately many people view this section of town as being run down and full of derelicts, but the people who sell in this area have a much different story. They say it is an eclectic mix of retailers and restaurants and has an ethnically diverse population. You can locate items not normally found in the mainstream stores and plenty of opportunity to try foods from around the world. There’s a Polish deli and Thai grocery for example. If it’s pubs you enjoy spending a little time in then the traditional Irish pubs and a Polish café are great choices.

People sometimes get tired of wandering predictable rows of merchandise and want to add some variety to their shopping experience. Bernice Thomson, manager of the West End Regeneration partnership, says there are plans underway to fill spaces left empty by a lingering recession and to promote the unique atmosphere of this area. She said, "We're setting up a website and the colour scheme will be the Olympic colours, because that represents all the continents and we have people here from all over the world. We'd like to see if we can get the railway bridge painted in those colours.” She also said, "There's also a printers and T-shirt printers and a really good antique and collectables shop. There's a ladies' underwear shop, you can get a washing machine or vacuum cleaner new or repaired and also get piercings tattoos or a haircut, because there's three hairdressers or barbers. The majority of these shops are independent and different from the rest of town and worth a visit."

Shopping for quality and low price in items like plain t-shirts sends people online. But when you want feel like walking and wandering among a rich variety of shops in a worldly atmosphere then lower High Street is the ideal choice.
