T-Shirts in Competition

Wednesday 15th of July 2009 04:07:22 PM

T-Shirts in CompetitionDazed Digital has announced a new contest to honor the Reiss capsule collection about to hit the market. The contest is a t-shirt competition calling for new designs based on personal interpretation of the brief “1971”. “1971” is the name of the new Reiss collection of denim clothing, but it must be made clear this is not about retro styling or the simple copying of past designs.

The competition focusing on new designs for t-shirts is asking entrants to design an interpretation of how to bring 1971 into the present and future. The 1971 Reiss line of clothing is modern, fashionable and chic denim. Some have also called it sexy denim. The reason “1971” was chosen as the name of the fashion line is because it is the first year of operation for Reiss. Reiss sees 1971 as a turning point in music and fashion and the first really stylish combination of both.

Reiss has been instrumental in turning denim into fashion and changing denim’s image as being only work clothing. Dazed Digital is partnering with Reiss to give new designers a chance to express their creativity with new interpretive graphics for tees. The top ten designs chosen by Dazed Digital will be submitted to the public for a vote. This will give fledgling designers a chance to show their artistic and creative abilities.

The ten designs put to public vote will be chosen by a panel of professionals working for Reiss and Dazed Digital. The top two winners will get to see their designs on a limited collection of t-shirts that will be displayed during London Fashion Week. This is a tremendous opportunity for young designers to get a chance for professional review of their work in addition to having the opportunity to display the clothing at a prestigious fashion event.
