New school uniform choices for fall 2009 include cotton t-shirts. T-shirts are comfortable, affordable, and both parent and student approved. Schools love the idea of plain t-Shirts as part of their school uniform because it has immediately made the idea of school uniforms more acceptable.

In the past, school uniform policies demanded a coat, tie, and dress slacks for boys and a coat, tie, and skirt for girls. Both boys and girls wore button down oxfords with their uniform.

Today, uniform choices are more modern and much less restricting. A typical school uniform for public schools this fall will include a t-shirt. Many school districts are adding the option of a comfy cotton t-shirt to the list of approved school clothes.

For many schools a t-shirt is the only option. Dress policies may pair the t-shirt with khakis or even nice jeans and a belt. The consistent factor is a t-shirt with the school logo.

Cotton t-shirts with a school’s logo look very professional when worn by an entire student body. Students are uniformly dressed and comfortable. The comfort factor is what was missing from past school uniform policies and has made today’s uniform choices more popular.

Another big selling factor for cotton t-shirts is expense. T-shirts are very affordable and do not require expensive upkeep. A good quality cotton shirt can be washed at home. Many cotton fabrics are wrinkle free and do not require ironing. They are also colorfast and do not fade over time. All of these qualities add to the affordability of the t-shirt.

Public schools introducing uniform policies this fall must design choices that are in a price range parents can afford. Public school students come from all economic backgrounds and the uniform choices must be priced for every budget. Providers can work with schools to help them design an inexpensive, high quality uniform package to offer parents and students.
