Give them a Tee!

Friday 03rd of July 2009 03:11:10 PM

Give them a Tee!Corporate gifts have been popular items at conferences, seminars, and other events for many years. You have most likely seen or been given several of the countless pens, coffee mugs, and other items handed out at golf tournaments and may even have a cap from your last political fundraiser.

Today, advertising departments and small business owners are looking to slash their advertising budgets while still getting their name in the public eye. And, they are taking a cue from promotional items such as those mentioned above.

Many companies are ordering promotional t-shirts with their logo to pass out to customers and clients. These t-shirts have a very high visibility and are an excellent vehicle for cost effective advertising.

Mitch Milken has promotional clothing accounts with several local businesses in his area. He began selling his clients on the idea of advertising through garments about one year ago. In just 6 months his t-shirt sales tripled and they are continuing to grow each month.

“I saw it as a win-win situation. I win by selling my product and my clients win with free advertising. They are most likely going to give their customers something, let’s make it something that works for them – that advertises their business,” states Milken.

Milken’s concept makes sense. According to advertising experts, promotion is one of the first areas to get cut when a business has to reign in their spending. Instead of doing away with advertising and losing potential customers, promotional t-shirts keep the company’s name in the public eye.

T-shirts are great for advertising because they are inexpensive and everyone wears a tee at one time or another. You won’t find someone walking down the street with coffee mug that has your company logo but chances are high you will run into hundreds of people wearing promotional t-shirts every week.
