What New Designer T-Shirts Are in the Works?

Monday 01st of June 2009 03:33:09 AM

What New Designer T-Shirts Are in the Works? The UK has been quite successful in promoting its fashion industry and one of the main venues is London Fashion Week. At one time it was primarily a showcase for established designers only, but now new designers are given an opportunity to participate. From t-shirts to evening gowns, the array of fashionable designs from old and new industry members is a sight to behold. For the lucky new designer show participants, this particular venue often signals the start of a successful career in a highly competitive industry.

NEWGEN has recently announced the names of new designers awarded the privilege of participating in the London Fashion Week. These designers include Peter Pilotto, Meadham Kirchhoff, and House of Holland for catwalk sponsorship, and Michael van der Ham, Mary Katrantzou, and Danielle Scutt for sponsored exhibitions. There is also a category for sponsored presentation and that honor went to Louise Gray and SYKES.

NEWGEN promotes new designers by making financial contributions to offset fashion show and exhibition expenses. NEWGEN itself is sponsored by the well known Topshop. NEWGEN has been instrumental in promoting new designer participation in well established fashion shows and exhibitions.

London Fashion Week is globally recognized as a forum for new fashion designers. This gives young UK designers an opportunity to show their designs in a way that gains international recognition from both the press and clothing buyers. The addition of new designers to the show has created a venue that brings plenty of excitement to the industry.

The first Ambassador for Emerging Talent appointed is Sarah Mower. Ms. Mower was given the task of increasing the awareness of the UK designer business through new initiatives. She was appointed by the British Fashion Council which promotes the UK fashion industry on a worldwide scale.
