One of the fastest growing retail sectors is clothing. This is per the IMRG which issues the Hitwise Hot Shops List. This list looks at websites and evaluates how they are working in terms of attracting customers. Clothing is one of the leading e-retail items selling.

Clothes of all kinds from sweats to high fashion are selling on the internet.

The IMRG company is now issuing a top 100 listing of websites. The company which has taken the top ranking since 2006, when the list was started, is Amazon. Second in line on the list is Argos.

The list looks at sites in a number of ways. They are ranked according to their abilities to attract customers their ability to convince customers to buy online. The rankings include a number of retailers, but clothing proved to be the fastest growing e-commerce this time. Eight specialty retailers rose the fastest on the list with Marks & Sepncer's and ASOS being the top two in the fastest rising category.

Other clothing retailers included on the list of great websites include Topshop, River Island, and New Look. The companies which have become what is considered an elite group are Amazon, Argos, Play.com, and Tesco.

Four of the top ten retailers have storefronts in addition to their websites. These is a loss of one retailer selling in a store and on the internet. On the list of the top 50 retailers, 28 currently have store fronts. This represents an increase of 5 storefronts since the list was started in 2006. The Hitwise Hot Shopes provides important information about what company is doing the best in terms of e-retailing. Clearly clothing is becoming a leading online market sector.
