Raising money for charity today takes imagination and innovation in order to attract new donors. There are so many charities asking for donations the competition for donor funds has forced charities to find unforgettable themes and new ideas. Even charities that have been in existence for a number of years must still rely on innovation in order to successfully raise enough money so the organization can meet its goals.A popular charitable cause in the UK is Red Nose Day which uses the them 'Do Something Funny for Money'. People from all walks of life wear a "red nose" to show they have supported the charity which serves thousands of people around the world. The money collected may help a child living with domestic violence or African towns dealing with abject poverty.
Comic Relief sponsors Red Nose Day and this year provided an alternative to those who prefer not to wear a red nose. Supporters can buy a Stella McCartney Red Nose Day t-shirt which has numerous and well known faces printed on it. The t-shirts are limited edition and can be purchased at TK Maxx. All proceeds from the s ale of the shirts go to the Red Nose Day campaign.
Ms. McCartney designed the t-shirts which are made out of organic Fairtrade certified cotton from developing countries. She said, "It's a real honour to be involved in such a tremendous cause and be a part of the Red Nose campaign 2009. The designs of the t-shirts were inspired by iconic images of iconic people by iconic photographers and adding an element of humour to them. I wanted to focus on photographs were people are happy and create a charity t-shirt that would become a staple of a person's wardrobe.
The Comic Relief charity was begun in 1985 and has successfully raised millions of dollars over the years.
