Selling Special T-shirts for Charity in Toronto

Tuesday 13th of January 2009 02:20:47 AM

Selling Special T-shirts for Charity in TorontoOne of the most popular fundraising items used by clubs, organizations, and charities is the t-shirt. In North Toronto, a designer named Franco Mirabelli is carrying on the tradition by designing a very special t-shirt to raise funds for a charity called Windfall Clothing Service.

The t-shirts will be donated to the charity for fundraising in order to help it develop the resources to help more people than it is able to currently assist. Windfall Clothing Service donates a variety of clothes to people living in poverty in the city of Toronto. Mirabelli owns high end fashion boutiques and traditionally has assisted larger and more well-known charities such as Children’s Miracle Network

In the case of Windfall Clothing Service, Mirabelli wanted to help the organizational fund raising, because as he said, “It’s such a small charity with so few people doing so much work.” The white t-shirts are made of cotton and Lycra and have the embroidered words, “Wear White, Care and Share” on the front. A limited number of shirts are available for sale.

The haute couture designer enjoys combining fashion with charity work. The shirts are being sold in the boutiques and have proven to be extremely popular. The idea was to make the t-shirts limited edition so that all of the production would sell. The shirts will be sold until they are sold-out or through the end of January 2009. The Windfall Clothing Service has an annual fundraiser called “Wear White 4 Windfall” and the sale of the t-shirts has been included in the campaign. People have been very supportive of the fundraising effort and at 20 per shirt are able to own an original Franco Mirabelli design.

Any charity interested in holding a successful fundraiser usually can’t go wrong selling specially designed t-shirts. When that design is the product of the efforts of a recognized fashion designer, it’s hard to go wrong.
