Wearing T-Shirts While Attending the Corporate Meeting

Thursday 11th of February 2010 07:31:04 PM

Wearing T-Shirts While Attending the Corporate MeetingIn New York in the USA, there is a business that takes good health seriously. When you enter the conference room, the first thing you will notice is the fact there is plenty of workout equipment. The equipment that is not related to exercising is more traditional and includes a presentational computer and coffee pot. When attending a meeting in this room, employees don't sit at a table eating food full of fat and sugar. Instead they exercise while at the staff meeting.

This may seem like a radical concept, but modern living often doesn't leave much time for exercising so getting fit while meeting may be the perfect compromise. Staff attending meetings in this room wear comfortable plain t-shirts or maybe even sweats and work up a sweat which means calories are being burned. One of the ancillary benefits of this kind of meeting is the fact it will be short and to the point, because the speaker is exercising too. The exercise/conference room is rented by the hour and offers a way for businesses to send employees a message about the importance of staying fit. The woman who operates the business, Jennifer Baran, says, "We're trying to incorporate exercise into everyday life."

The idea of walking conference rooms is growing rapidly. You can find plenty of company conference rooms now that are designed to be both meeting and workout rooms. In companies like Salo in Minneapolis, the room is equipped so users can continue working while exercising during lunch hours or breaks. Craig Dexheimer of Solo said, "You can check e-mail, or you can log into the database. There are certain things that are a little trickier to do while walking and that would be handwriting, making notes, just because you're bouncing around a little bit. It takes about two to three days to get used to it. I compare it to almost having sea legs when you get off. But it's something your body gets used to."

So today, when you walk into some corporate conference rooms, you just might find staff in t-shirts burning calories while getting that project completed at the same time.>
