Ralph Lauren is a trim 69 year old who has built a fashion empire. The company is particularly known for creating almost inconic polo shirts and sweatshirts that are comfortable and stylish at the same time. But the Ralph Lauren clothing line has a lot more than polo shirts and includes everything from sweaters to trousers. You can also buy Ralph Lauren fragrances and furniture in addition to clothing. The company has now been around 41 years and is almost considered an American institution.

In honour of the company’s long history, Ralph Lauren decided t support the restoration of the American flag that inspired the penning of the national anthem. The flag is 195 years old and is going to be a centerpiece in a new exhibit at the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian. The exhibit is being opened to the public on Wednesday and the giant flag is one of the main attractions. The Ralph Lauren company had donated $13 million over 10 years ago at the beginning of the restoration project.

Ralph Lauren himself is seen as a man who has proven the American dream works. The Smithsonian museum director said, “He really represents this whole idea of America as a place of opportunity that rewards hard work and the investment of intelligence-the combination of skill and intelligence he’s demonstrated in his field.” Many of the Ralph Lauren styles reflect various aspects of America from the rugged west to the polished north. At one time there was a line of flag clothing. Mr. Lauren himself said, “I reflect and improve on what I see. I think I’ve taken things that I love and made them possible for people to have a piece of.” The company’s brands cover a wide range of prices too so that everyone can find something to fit their tastes and budget.
