Sales of T-Shirts and Jewelry Deliver Education

Wednesday 05th of November 2008 08:43:48 PM

Sales of T-Shirts and Jewelry Deliver EducationThe Save the Children organization is celebrating its 125th anniversary. The organization is dedicated to protecting children's rights around the world. For many children, this organization is their one hope for getting a decent education. This is especially true for children living in war torn areas of the globe. It is difficult to think of growing up in a country that is constantly at war, but that is exactly how many children live.

The Save the Children organization is getting ready to start a major fundraising campaign called "Rewrite the Future". The money will be used to fund education for over 8 million children around the globe in the year 2010.

The Bulgari company has decided to support the efforts of the Save the Children organization by making a substantial contribution. The company has set a goal of raising €10 million between now and the end of 2009. The money will be raised in a number of ways including the selling specially developed items such as a silver ring engraved with the Save the Children logo. In fact, a collection of jewelry is being created and will be initially introduced at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni exhibit called "Between Eternity and History". This exhibit reviews the history of the 125 year old Bulgari brand.

The Chief Executive officer of the Bulgari Group is Francesco Trapani. He said, “For Bulgari, being part of history and at the same time being able to help change it by giving less fortunate people the possibility of a new future is the best possible way of celebrating its 125 years. I am therefore really delighted that the company is actively working on the success of the ‘Rewrite the Future’ campaign – a project consistent with the commitment Bulgari has decided to make to initiatives aiding youth education throughout the world. I am also convinced that, thanks to the help of our customers and Save the Children supporters, we will succeed in achieving – and hopefully in exceeding – the ambitious target we have set ourselves.”

Save the children raises money in a number of ways including selling t-shirts.

Once the exhibit ends, the jewelry pieces will be auctioned at special events with the money going to Save the Children.
