USA Lastdays Company Sells T-Shirts That Are Eco-Friendly

Tuesday 07th of October 2008 09:00:10 PM

USA Lastdays Company Sells T-Shirts That Are Eco-Friendly Lastdays is a USA company that is proud of being socially conscious in a world where non-renewable resources are being used at an alarming rate. The company’s newest efforts have led to the creation of a “green” brand. As one of the company owners, James Freeman, was quoted as saying, “We've always wanted to go green with our brand and go beyond the norm.” Now the company has released its new eco-friendly brand as one of its fashion lines.

Mr. Freeman said, “"Due to the high demand of our apparel within the past two years, our customers have shown a real interest in responsibly produced clothing, one that utilizes organic agricultural alternatives and water/soy-based ink to conventional chemicals." Lastdays operates with a philosophy that companies should seek responsible ways to create products.

Up and coming fashion designers today are learning much more about eco-friendly clothing. As the Sustainable Cotton Project has reported, making T-Shirts t-shirts out of organic cotton saves “one-third of a pound of synthetic fertilizers and farm chemicals” from polluting the land and air.

Clothing manufacturer’s today are much more aware of their impact on the environment. Called the “carbon foot print”, companies are evaluated in terms of the positive and negative impact their operations have on the environment. Lastdays not only is now producing all organic cotton tees, but is also developing creative clothing printing techniques which are more environmentally friendly.

Lastdays contributes 1% of its sale to organizations such as One Percent for the Planet which is an environmental watchdog group. Lastdays hopes to set an example for other USA clothing companies with the hope that most USA fashion retailers and clothing manufacturers will be eco-friendly within the next 10 years at the latest.

Lastdays customers can take pride in the fact they are wearing clothing that promotes environmental awareness.
