Sports International magazine has announced the winners of its prestigious annual awards for fashion. This is the eight award year for the Sportswear International Fashion Awards and judges represent the worldwide fashion industry. Judges this year are from Canada, Italy, Germany, the USA, Russia, Korea, Japan, France and Singapore. Each year there is a different panel of judges.

The clothing categories included in those reviewed range from footwear to t-shirts and all sportswear categories in between. This year's winners are the following.

• Editor's Choice Retail Award: Comme des Garçons • Editor's Choice Special Award: Marithé & François Girbaud/Kuyichi • Best Denim: Dr. Denim Jeansmakers • Best Fashion: Woolrich • Best Sport/Street: Dekker/Dek'her • Best Footwear: Dr. Martens • Best Sneakers: Creative Recreation • Best Newcomer: Lou by Lee Cooper

The awards recognize fashion design innovation, inspiring store concepts, fashion presentation, ethical and charitable contributions through fashion design, and creative clothing to name just a few areas of evaluation.

Sportswear International magazine reviews the global industry news concerning contemporary styles. The magazine prides itself on always being up-to-date on the most sophisticated and casual styles. The magazine has offices around the world including Milan, Frankfurt, New York, Russia and India. The magazine employs a number of correspondents who monitor the catwalks and showrooms.
