Some Clothing Fashions Just Won't Die

Friday 22nd of August 2008 05:57:10 PM

Some Clothing Fashions Just Won't DieIt's a fact that some fashions never seem to go away. Whether that's good or bad depends on what style you're talking about and personal opinion. There are good styles that enhance and complement a woman's figure and there are styles that don't seem to look good on anyone except the reed thin models you see on television.

The cover of Vogue magazine is leading the way in the fashion industry when it comes to reviving "old" designs. The cover model is wearing a lace dress that just happens to be flesh-coloured. Some people consider a lace dress to be very old-fashioned and especially in a nude colour. It's reminiscent of your grandmother's tea-time dresses.

Other fashion throwbacks showing up on the high couture catwalks include leather trousers and leggings and pashminas. Pashmina, for those who don't know, is a soft cashmere material made out of the fur of a pashmina goat's fur. The material is used most frequently to create shawls and wraps called pashminas, though the more creative stars and fashion trend setters have used the material as edging, in Goth dresses, and even for wedding dresses. Pashminas have been considered a fashion staple for the Sloane Ranger set, but are now making their way into the new clothing stocks for all shoppers. Leather and lace are back with a vengeance, but that bodes well for t-shirt sales. Let's face it, t-shirts go with almost everything. That's not an opinion, but a fact. For example, leggings have been around for almost 2 years and appear to be here to stay for another year. Many celebrities and fashion models wear leggings with oversized printed tees fashionably tied or pinned. T-shirts wear well with leather trousers, under leather fringed shawls and even with one of those pashminas.

Fashion styles seem to go through an unending recycling process. For many shoppers that's good news, because some styles should have never left the scene in the first place.
