What better way for this legendary British brand to celebrate its 100th
birthday than with a new collection. The birthday celebratory
collection will be called, appropriately enough, The 100 Collection.
This collection will include Braille T-Shirts
and many other unique designs. It makes sense that this world renowned
denim brand would include T-Shirts
in the collection since nothing compliments a great pair of jeans quite
like the perfect T-shirt.
According to Fashion United, “The '100' collection will be designed and developed in collaboration with designers, celebrities, sporting heroes and iconic brands including Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Alain Mikli, Ora Ito, Linford Christie, Jean Claude Jitrois, Paco Rabane and WAD Magazine.” A 100 Collection of jeans will be sold in Lee Cooper stores to coincide with The 100 Collection.
The launch of The 100 Collection will take place on July 2, 2008 at Bread & Butter in Barcelona. The collection will remain open for exhibit during the trade show. Then during Paris Fashion Week in September 2008 all of the 100 pieces will be auctioned off to benefit the Red Cross.
Lee Cooper will continue its 100th year in grand style by providing outfits for the British team at the Summer Olympics opening ceremonies in August.
This year’s spring and summer collection is also memorable and fitting for a 100th anniversary. The spring and summer collection, designed by Jean Charles de Castelbajac, includes jeans and T-Shirts based on 1960s British rock stars. The design is based on the artwork found in 1960s music magazines. It features jeans, T-Shirts and comfortable T-Shirts dresses for the girls. The designs all pay attention to detail and have special touches that make wearing them fun.
Lee Cooper knows how to celebrate a birthday and this year promises to be fun and profitable for the century old company.
