We’ve all been closely following the tragic events in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). The cyclone that hit there last weekend resulted in a great loss of life with the latest estimates nearing 100,000 people. Many of those who are left are now homeless and have lost everything that they owned. Various organizations including private charities, individual governments and the UN are trying to get much needed aid into the country to help alleviate the severe problems caused by the cyclone. T-Shirts are among the things that are being brought in to the country. In addition to food and clean drinking water, people need clothes. World Vision is one charity that is bringing sarongs and T-Shirts to those in need.
Many organizations are asking for money, rather than direct supplies. However, if you have old T-Shirts that you want to use to benefit the survivors of the Myanmar cyclone then you can use those T-Shirts to make money. If they are in good condition or if they are collector items then you might try selling them on www.ebay.co/uk. Then you can donate the money that you earn directly to cyclone relief aid. If your T-Shirts are in really bad shape then perhaps you should think about using them as rags and creating a car wash and donating the car wash proceeds to charity.
There is a great need in Myanmar now. The people of that stricken country need the help of the rest of the world to recover. And so, you can raise money and donate to an organization that will use it to provide humanitarian relief to people that need it so desperately. They will receive T-Shirts so that they can go about the business of rebuilding and you will have the satisfaction of helping our world community.
