This Is Bristol reports that children will have the opportunity to
enter a t-shirt contest to create t-shirts
for the upcoming Walk the Walk Breast Cancer and Research marathon. It
will take place in July. People can choose to walk a 5km, 10km or a
half marathon through Bristol starting from Ashton Court.
The walk is sponsored by the Penny Brohn Cancer Care to help raise money for care and research to individuals with breast cancer. Due to the increasing amount of women diagnosed with breast cancer, the money raised will help find a cure. Walkers will find sponsors who will donate money for them to walk in the march.
Children will be able to express their creativity by entering a contest to design the t-shirts for the event. They will need to make up a design that will go along with the theme, "Walking on Sunshine" and breast cancer research and care. The winner will receive his or her design on the official t-shirt used for the event called the SunWalk t-shirt and a £100 voucher. The voucher is good for theme parks and other places around the UK. The winner will also be able to enter the VIP event. For those who do not win, the second and third place contestants will win a "luxury art set".
If you would like to enter the contest or someone who would like to please visit the article at http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=145365&command=displayContent&sourceNode=145191&contentPK=20381030&folderPk=83726&pNodeId=144922 or the official site for Walk the Walk at www.walkthewalk.com.
