Many stores are jumping on the eco-friendly products bandwagon. Now one o f the biggest stores in the world, Wal-Mart have jumped on board with their recycled t-shirts.In attempts to protect the environment and use other materials to manufacturer their shirts, Wal-mart will be selling shirts made with recycled plastic. These shirts are from Coca Cola and are called "Drink 2 Wear." The shirts are made from half cotton and half recycled plastic or polyethylene terephthalate. The AJC website reports it takes about three to five plastic bottles to make each shirt.
The shirts started with Coca Cola selling them on their website but have now expanded to the Wal-Mart shelves for further promotion and sales. The store started an Earth Month program to start promoting eco-friendly food and clothing. The store plans to advertise these shirts on television, printed sales ads, and the radio.
The shirts will have sayings printed across them such as "Make Your Plastic Fantastic" and "Rehash Your Trash." The shirts are available April 14. You can purchase the shirts at one of the retail stores in the United States or you can order one off the website at www.walmart.com. You can expect to pay $7.50 for each shirt.
