Sundance Channel, Barneys New York and Loomstate are getting together to start a national t-shirt recycling program in the United States. Sundance will be promoting the campaign, Barneys will be accepting donations, and Loomstate will be doing the manufacturing of the recycled material. Loomstate is an eco-fashion manufacturer that uses 100% certified organic materials. With this team effort, they hope they will be able to make a great impact on getting people involved in buying "green."Starting April 13, individuals can bring their old t-shirts to Barneys across the country. Then the eco-chic fashion brand Loomstate will take the shirts and will create completely different, new shirts from them. These shirts will be available for sale during the holidays in 2008. No need to fear about getting second hand merchandise because these recycled t-shirts is just like having a regular manufactured t-shirt.
If you decide you want to participate you will receive a discount of 20% on Loomstate clothing at Barneys from April 13-27. This offered discount is to get more people excited about the campaign motivates people to clean out closets and bring their shirts to Barneys. The charity, Planet will receive 1% of all the profits from the sales of the t-shirts.
